Valsartan Amlodipine is a drug for the treatment of essential hypertension, including valsartan and amlodipine two ingredients. Among them, amlodipine belongs to calcium channel blocker drugs, valsartan angiotensin II antagonist drugs. The drug is used in patients whose blood pressure cannot be adequately controlled by monotherapy. In placebo-controlled clinical studies, 1.8 percent of patients in the drug-treated group discontinued the drug because of side effects, compared with 2.1 percent in the placebo group. Common reasons for discontinuation were peripheral edema (0.4 percent) and vertigo (0.2 percent).
