Cefuroxime Axetil Tablets
It is used for the following infections caused by sensitive bacteria: Lower respiratory tract infections: such as acute and chronic bronchitis and pneumonia. Upper respiratory tract infections: sinusitis, paranasal sinusitis, tonsillitis and pharyngitis. Skin and soft tissue infections: such as boils and impetigo. Gonorrhea: acute gonococcal urethritis and cervicitis

Cefuroxime axetil tablets is a kind of cephalosporin antibiotics, commonly used in the treatment of children with pharyngitis or tonsillitis, acute otitis media and impetigo. The activity of the drug against gram-positive cocci is similar to or slightly worse than that of cephalosporins, but it appears to be quite stable against β-lactamases produced by staphylococci and gram-negative bacilli. In addition to methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus, Enterococcus and Listeria, other positive cocci (including anaerobic cocci) are sensitive to this product. However, the drug is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cefuroxime axetil or other beta-lactam antibacterial drugs. Before using cefuroxime axetil tablets, patients should be asked whether they have an allergic reaction to penicillins, cephalosporins or other allergens
